Delta Upsilon Chapter at Tennessee Tech University

Kappa Delta

Letter to Parents

Parents, when your daughter accepted an invitation to join Kappa Delta Sorority, she accepted an opportunity to live for something even greater than herself. She accepted a sisterhood unlike any other, full of women that are always and will always be there to be her encouragement and support system. She is a part of a sisterhood of accountability for upholding our motto: "Let us strive for that which is Honorable, Beautiful, and Highest." Your daughter was chosen to be a Kappa Delta because she embodies Kappa Delta’s ideals and principles — honor, truth, duty — and she will contribute toward building and maintaining our sisterhood for the future.

As a member of Kappa Delta, your daughter can have confidence in the fact that she will be treated with kindness, humanity and dignity. The sorority has a zero tolerance program against hazing, and absolutely will not allow hazing of any kind. We hope that you are as excited as your daughter for this next step in her life and college career, and we encourage you to stay involved throughout her active membership in Kappa Delta Sorority! Our chapter creates a bi-monthly newsletter for Parents and Alumnae that is emailed to our Parent's Club contact list. You will recieve an email with a request for you to join our Parent's Club and can join by simply responding to the link provided in the email. Our newsletters contain pictures and information about everything Delta Upsilon has been up to over the previous months; including philanthropic events, intramurals, formals, social events, and much more. Our chapter also hosts a Parent and Family Day once a year at Tennessee Tech University. You can visit our chapter suite, meet the families of the other sisters in our chapter, and see first hand what Kappa Delta is doing for our school and our community. We love Parent and Family Day because it gives our families deeper insight into why we love Kappa Delta and just how much KD impacts and challenges us as young women. Being a member Kappa Delta Sorority will be a life-changing experience for your daughter, providing her with opportunities in leadership, accountability in academic success, and circle of best friends that will support and guide her throughout her life. In all, your daughter has become a member of an organization whose impact is well stated in our Vision Statement: "Kappa Delta Sorority is committed to providing opportunities and experiences that inspire women to greatness."
